HVAC
Why is my thermostat screen blank or unresponsive?
What’s likely going on
Dead batteries are the most common cause for a battery-powered thermostat. For a hardwired or smart thermostat, a tripped breaker or a wiring issue at the unit itself is more likely if batteries aren't the issue.
Is this a DIY job or worth calling someone?
Replacing batteries is simple and safe to do yourself. If that doesn't bring it back, especially on a smart or hardwired thermostat, it's worth having someone check the wiring rather than repeatedly resetting it.
Not sure, or ready to have someone take care of it?
